Hopefully this year will be a good one for the winter owls…Mother Nature hasn’t been kind for the last couple in regards to the Great Gray Owl.
Just love being in the bush at -25c and watching an owl float over an open area in search of food.

Near the end of April this year found me making a trip west to Sask. Spending a couple of days and a number of hours watching and photographing these most interesting birds ( Sharp-tailed Grouse )
Plan will be to return again next spring for more of the same and perhaps try a couple of different approaches that I have in mind…will have to wait and see if my ideas unfold.

Another take on the Indigo Bunting found in the English Gardens, Wpg. mid Aug. I had planned on returning a couple more times but there always seemed to be other things pop up…the joy’s of retirement.
