When out-n-about searching for Snowy Owls…one needs to multitask.
Not only scanning the pole tops ahead as you drive, also the fields…because you just never know.
This male may have recently came of a pole…perhaps he had just finished a meal…perhaps a missed opportunity when I spotted him.
I say him because of the lack of heavy barring that females have…my thinking is a juvenile male and will turn all white in the future.
Never be surprised by what Mother Nature may provide.
