Old and Forgotten

While out-n-about it’s not uncommon to come across old homesteads in the middle of nowhere. This would be back in the times when life was simple which required allot of hard work and long days…no power, TV’s, cell phones, internet or Tim’s.
One can only imagine the hardships these folks would have endured.
Just a glimpse from Day’s Gone By.

End is Near Up-Date

As you recall I was heading out last Tuesday for probably my last chance for some Winter Owls. I believe the time change may have thrown me off a bit….never the less I did manage the tail end of “Feed Feast” for a lone Great Gray.

She did manage one successful plunge that provided a meal along with a couple of fly-outs. Interesting how they tend to return to their favorite perch for the most part. With this in mind you can attempt to position yourself in a suitable location and wait for the action…all this can unfold in mere seconds and can be a “Win Win” or “Oh Crap” moment.

The End Is Near

It’s that time of year when our winter owls will soon be making their way back into the deep forest. It’s been a good year with plenty of action and fun times spent with the Great Grays and Hawk Owls.

Morning forecast appears to be decent so it’s off to bush country which will likely be the last for the winter season. Hopefully there will be some rewards in this last out-n-about.

Would be nice to find the Hawk Owl again to be active as it was on a recent visit…even though it was a strike and a miss it was exciting to witness…so the fingers are crossed.
