I’m in an affair with Joli…yes, she’s my favourite in the Bird World and the resident female at one of the sites in Winnipeg. Joli never seems to let me down when I go to visit.
She’s most aggressive and defensive and makes every pass just a bit closer until I’m gone.
Never the less…I love this bird.
Ruffed-Grouse are commonly seen along the roadways foraging for food in Hecla as well as other forest areas. As long as you don’t attempt to leave the vehicle these birds are very photogenic for the most part.
