The Red River now clear of ice jams and flowing at a good rate with the levels dropping…only makes sense that the Pelicans have now returned.
They are fun to watch and photograph as they glide up and down the river.
They can be found just a short drive North of Winnipeg at Lockport if your looking for something to do on a sunny afternoon.
Big change of pace, rather than looking skyward the focus was on the ground. I’ve never been a big fan of snakes but the Red-sided garter snakes are starting to immerge from their winter dens and fun to watch.
Needless to say I wasn’t shooting close up in Macro mode.
