Yes…We Have Snow

It had been a while since I had been Out-n-About in search of the Great White Owls from the North…the last time I was down this section of road I had encountered Mr. Farmer and his noisy truck and trailer. This road is one that I travel every time I’m out and looked much different than my last visit a month ago.
Over the last month we’ve had some snow but mostly it’s been the wind…since it’s wide open in this stretch and tends to blow in.
Easy to see the snow plows have done a good job of clearing the road and now we have a small mountain range along the roadside.
If I had come into this section of road earlier…even with 4-wheel drive I think I would have been in trouble…just sayin !

Snowy on the Wing

For the most part a Snowy will stay perched on a pole when a vehicle passes by.
I had stopped a couple poles away and noticed headlights approaching in the distance…first thought was to wait till they passed.

Then heard the rattle,rattle,clang, bang and realized that this truck was pulling a trailer full of who knows what…second thought was so much for this Snowy.

So now sure that Mr. Farmer and his noise machine would spook the owl I simple waited with high hopes the owl would fly in my direction.

Thanks Mr Farmer…it worked out well.

We Have Lift Off

They always make it look so easy…we have lift off !

It’s been a while since I’ve been out to check the Snowy situation…perhaps today would be a good day since my focus has been on other Winter Owls.
