It’s all about timing.
As the Eagle begin to collect prior to migration they become more approachable…which in turn provides some up enjoyable close encounters.
Side note…most will migrate but the odd Eagle will hang around and can even be seen in the dead of winter.
A characteristic over the shoulder glance given by an all but pure white male.
Some owls can be approachable while others are gone the moment you begin to slow down or stop.

Not every day provides the perfect conditions but deal with what you have.
When I started out under clear skies it soon changed to overcast.
Even owling in overcast skies is better than a trip to Costco…just sayin
