So all good things must come to an end…as the seasons change so do the subjects.
It’s been a decent year for Snowy Owls but now time to focus on other returning birds.
Well it’s goodbye to the Great White Owls from the Tundra.

We all know how wonderful technology is…more and more these wonderful gadgets have replaced the need for humans.
The Peregrine Project has been using cameras for a number of years to monitor nest boxes, chicks and ID returning Falcons. This all works fine if the birds cooperate…sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes we still have to do “Old School” which is my preference and get that band # photo…now confirmed Ella has returned for another season.
Must say…lot more fun doing it Old School than watching on a pc.

With recent warm temps and the return of other birds my Winter Owling has come to an end.
Other birds being Peregrines…First Bird returned on the First Day of Spring March 20th.
Appears we have 3-4 birds now back and it’s possible they may be moving about from site to site checking out the real estate.
As always each bird will need to identified…so the fun now begins.
