Clear blue skies and an active Snowy. Who could ask for anything better than that…just sayin !

Owl on a Stick
It was another one of those…”forget about the job jar” days.
First trip out-n-about in search of Great Grays and can say I seen one…unfortunately no photos.
The day wasn’t a total washout as I did come across a Northern Hawk Owl who was actively going about its endless search for a meal.
On the Hunt
Coming across an actively hunting Snowy can prove to be exciting. It soon became obvious when I stopped that it was in hunt mode. The timing was such that I was ready as she launched off the pole.
This was the first of two attempts for a meal and she returned to the same pole before her second failed attempt…once again returning to the same pole.
The third time she took off I was caught off guard while having a quick glance at photos that had been taken…still unclear to me just why I would be doing that when there was possible action to take place.
