Middle of February and I spent some time with an active Northern Hawk Owl…this one returns from a missed attempt for a meal.
Winter Owling is pretty much over for another year with no plans to be out-n-about to specifically search for them.
As the seasons change so do the subjects.
The Northern Hawk Owl by nature gives virtually no indication that it’s about to take flight. Being the smaller of our “Winter Owls” this owl can definitely provide a challenge to photograph.
I’ll will admit that I have deleted a pile of blurry Hawk Owl photos over the years.
