This owl simply wanted a different perspective and looked at me in “Portrait” rather than “Landscape”. This head tilting is characteristic for Hawk Owls…just can’t remember seeing this degree of tilt before.

Winter Owling Continues
Continuing my search for winter owls finds a cooperative Northern Hawk Owl that I was able to spend a couple hrs. with.
After spending an hour watching ( much like watching paint dry ) he/she became active and began moving about.
Waiting for Winter
Waiting for winter and the return of the Winter Owls…this Northern Hawk Owl perched low for a short time after an attempt for a meal on # 15 Hwy East of Winterpeg.
Hopefully the temps will drop and the back roads will freeze…plus a little sun would be appreciated Mother Nature.
