Day’s Go By

Now in the last half of September and looking forward to October. It’s been a strange year for birds…with the lack of nesting pairs and failed nest sites.
Not exactly sure just why this occurred and hopefully it has not become to norm.

Over the last few years I’ve made Annual Eagle Runs up North along the shores of Lake Winnipeg during October. During this time the Eagles are collecting in great numbers prior to migration.
The Eagles seem to be well aware that commercial fishing is in full swing at this time of year.

Hopefully there will be good weather and plenty of Eagles…time will tell.

Cheers !
Dennis

Change of Pace

Change of pace is warranted…even though I have a number of captures from Great Horned and Cooper’s site visits that may not see the light of day.
Always exciting to have a close up encounter with Bald Eagles.
Although I don’t want to rush things.
Thoughts of fall trips up Lake Winnipeg when the Eagles begin to collect in good numbers prior to the Fall Migration keep popping into my mind.

October will come all too soon.

It’s unclear to me just how I’ve missed noticing a Bald Eagles nest near a road I frequently travel…by the size and location I should have seen this nest long before.
Hopefully this Eagles mate will return and they’ll use that Big Old Nest…time will tell.
