Back Yard Visitors

Being well aware that we had Crows nesting in the pine tree in the front yard and never thought much about it till the young fledged. The adults had become comfortable sitting on the birdbath or fence as I work in the yard.

The two young Crows fledged and immediately attracted to the little pond in the backyard.

With no fear of humans at this point they often come and perch on the deck railing or fence only 2-3 ft away.
They are now flying around the area under the parents watchful eye…but still returning to the pond for a drink.

Hopefully they won’t decide to land on the BBQ when its fired up as I’ve had them already land on it.

Every once in a while there is a change of pace around the summer place. Pretty hard to miss this Baltimore Oriole with its bright orange coloring.
They can be seen visiting Hummingbird feeders and also attracted to oranges which should be cut in half.

Simply put…a Splash of Color to Brighten Your Day.

Radisson Hotel Chicks now banded and returned to the nest box with their New Bling…banding went off without any hitches. We have a male and female and now it’s time for them to be named.
