During the winter months many complain it’s to cold when it’s -35c…I say, well there’s no bugs and great day for Winter Owling. During the summer many complain it’s to hot when it’s +35c and even higher with the humidex…I say, it’s to hot for the bugs and a great day for water birds…like the American White Pelicans at Lockport.
The Wood Duck would be the most colourful ducks that we have and are equipped with sharp claws that enable them to perch in trees.
Other ducks are ground nesters but these ducks use tree cavities. They commonly use nest boxes that have been constructed and placed along rivers and ponds.
From time to time an enjoyable couple hours can be sent at one of the many ponds in Winnipeg…St.Vital Park just happens to be a great place for watching ducks and geese.
