Great numbers of Pelicans have return to Lockport and fun to watch…amazes me just how slow they fly without dropping into the river.

The Red River now clear of ice jams and flowing at a good rate with the levels dropping…only makes sense that the Pelicans have now returned.
They are fun to watch and photograph as they glide up and down the river.
They can be found just a short drive North of Winnipeg at Lockport if your looking for something to do on a sunny afternoon.

When the mercury falls to – 31c and they say it’s -46c with the wind chill…thoughts turn to a warmer day back in the fall. Great Egret in-flight at Oak Hammock Marsh.
Now on the plus side…it’s a dry cold and no snow to shovel today.
