Each year the English Garden in Wpg. attract a wide array of birds, the bonus this year was one of the juvenile Cooper’s Hawk that seemed unconcerned with the presence of humans.

Majority of the time they pick a plant and work their way around the flower collecting the nectar…then off to another flower to repeat the process. This will continue for short periods of time then they disappear as fast as they appeared.
I would only think that they are perhaps taking a break before getting back to the flowers.
I’ve been having great fun watching Osprey at Gimli this year…perhaps a little to much by the count of all the photos and files. Finding one that liked to visit a low post and pose was a bonus…not only once but on three different occasions.
Take note of the business end ( talons ) of this Osprey, let me tell you they are very sharp and designed for fishing…reading somewhere that they catch a fish 1 out of every 4 dives. I would think that’s better than any Manitoba fishermen I know.
