Action at the Nest Site

In all the years this had been a “First” for me…this being a Pileated nest. The adults simply come and go with both feeding the youngster.

Would have been nice to have more than one chick but it is what it is.

Often times both the male and female would be on the tree that provided plenty of action.

Peregrine Chick Banding Day

It’s that time of the season for Peregrine chick banding.

The lone surviving chick at the Logan site was banded on the 23rd.

Temporary name has been Tot since she/he was the last to hatch…now Miss Tot as we banded the chick a female.

She may be given another name in the days to come…hope she enjoys her new bling ?
