You may recall recent communication regarding Princess(The Radisson Matriarch) and her release. Since then she hasn’t been spotted as far as I know…so no news is good news as they say.
Having known Princess since 2006 I’ve collected many photos of her over the years.
For whatever reason the Stars Aligned and I was able to say farewell.

Ella (Brandon hatch 2015) first showed up in Winnipeg in 2018 and nested at the West Wpg site…then staking a claim on the Radisson site in 2020 and now the New Resident Female for the last two years with her mate Pip.
This is Pips third mate since he became the Radisson resident male.

Ella was obliging enough to provide some up-close and personal captures this year.

Our longtime resident female Princess returned to Winnipeg. She was found near the Logan site after getting herself into a jam that she could get out of. Thankfully no injuries and only dehydrated. She spent a couple of days at Wildlife Haven and given a clean bill of health and ready to be released.
Over the years everyone became very attached to Princess and this release was a roller coaster of emotions.
Having her in hand and up-close and personal will stick with me forever…with a second chance she is back in Manitoba Air Space.

She hatched in Minneapolis in 2002 and came to Winnipeg 2004 then paired up with Trey
Resident female at the Radisson Hotel for 15 years and had 4 different mates.
She was last seen at the Radisson at the end of the 2018 season. When she didn’t return in 2019 we assumed she had died given her age.
I’m sure everyone can imagine our surprise and joy when we received the news that 39/B (Princess) would make a full recovery and be released.

Mother Nature is just Full of Surprises.
