Evening of July 17th. and we accessed the roof to return “Little Brother” for the second time around after being given the OK from rehab. All was calm on the roof as we placed the chick back into the nest box…that was until he started to yak. Out of no where Princess showed up and went into defensive mode.
I can always expect lots of action from Joli ( my Logan Sweetheart ) as she defends her site and chicks during banding.
After the loss of one of the chicks we had placed another chick that had gone down from another location into the Logan site for fostering.
Everything fell into place and Hart and Joli accepted the new chick as their own…to date all the chicks are up and flying and doing well.
I’m not a big fan of pole perched birds…but when it comes to Peregrines, that’s a whole other story.
