After a decent winter owling season and jumping straight in to Peregrine season…have been able to confirm that our resident female (Princess) at the Radisson Hotel has returned for her 15 th season.
Appears she has hooked up again with Pip her mate from last year.
Hears hoping they will have another successful year.
Excitement is building with the return of the first Peregrines. For those that don’t know…I’ve been involved with the Peregrine Project since 2006. Each year we need to ID the returning birds by confirming the band number. This task can be frustrating at times as the birds do not always cooperate by showing their band…often more than one trip is needed to be able to get a readable photograph of the band.
With the lost of 2 females last season it’s going to be an interesting year to see who is returning and who is hooking up with who.
Now the question remains will Princess the resident female from the Radisson return for another year ?
Confirmed that Hart (Logan male) and Faith (West Wpg female) are back in town…will have to wait and see if they stay together.

As the season change so do my subjects. It’s been a good year for owls and then to round off the season with a Barred Owl…couldn’t ask for anything better.
Now at the point of winding down on winter owls and gearing up for the return of the Peregrines.
The work well underway with last minute things to do…and many questions ?
…The biggest question…will Princes return for year 16 ?
…Will Hurricane return for year 10 ?
…Who will show up…who won’t show up ?
…Who will partner with Hart and Sundance ?
All questions that will be answered in due time… it’s going to be and interesting year.
