It doesn’t take much to think of things to come at our summer place in Gimli…as I look outside and see the swirling snow coming down here in Winterpeg.

There is likely more but I do have three Osprey sites in the area that I’ll be keeping tabs on.

Osprey being fish eaters come equipped with all the right tools for fishing…take notice of those talons.
You definitely don’t want one of these birds getting those hooks in to you.

The female Osprey sat in the nest with the lone chick and none stop calling could only be heard…finally the male returned to the nest to show off the catch of the day. The visit was sort as he left with the meal and went off to have the best parts first on a near by pole.

Notice how the fish is being carried…Osprey have the ability to fly with one foot in front of the other while holding a fish.

The fish being carried parallel to the body causing less drag…smart bird.
