Young Osprey does a bit of pre-flight Wingersizing before take off.

On the way home last week we stopped by the Osprey nest for a quick check…our timing was perfect. Now you have to understand that my wife is not a birder nor a photographer but will always say ” take as long as you want”
Well, no sooner had we stopped and with the camera out there was action…this included take offs and landings.
So the quick stop was just that and we continued on home.
And yes I was happy with the results.

Over the last 4-5 day’s the lone Osprey Chick (right) has found it’s wings and has now fledged…checking back to my records seems to indicate that she ( by breast markings ) is at least three weeks behind.

Never the less it was nice to see this chick up and flying…now the task of learning just how to fish before it migrates.
