Eye just dropped in to see what your up to this morning ?

I would believe it’s safe to say that not many have had the opportunity to see a Northern Hawk Owl ?
Since they are for the most part human friendly by nature and with a long lens you too can be up close and personal.
I’ll just call it another “Nature Rush”.

The mercury is rising and Manitoba is coming out of a deep freeze…and the clicker finger was itchy.

Leaving the open farmlands and Snowy Owls for another day I went in search of the Hawk Owl seen near the end of Dec.

First couple passes at different locations are without any reward…then finally with thanks to a crow that seemed overly upset for some reason the owl was soon spotted.

I suspect the crow had been harassing the owl perched higher in a tree and it had found safety in the lower heavier bush line.

After some time it was obvious the owl was on the hunt as it moved from higher to lower perches.
