While out-n-about in search of other Raptors I stumbled upon what I later found out were a pair of Marbled Godwits.
Their long legs and bills certainly indicate shorebirds in my mind…would only have expected to see them next to a shallow pond or mud flats in search of food.
From what I now understand they can also be found around hay fields and grasslands where they nest.
The field and gravel road action most likely would have been a mating display.
It’s always interesting to stumble upon and learn something new.
