Great Gray on the Move

After a brief pause the Great Gray is again on the move in the end-less search for food.
Winter now drawing to a close and Spring just around the corner my Winter Owling comes to an end.

As seasons change so do the subjects…until then you’re stuck with my Winter Owl encounters.

Exciting when the Stars Align and have everything fall into place…when Out-n-About in search of Great Grays.
They are referred to by many as Grays, Greys, Ghost of the Forest, Phantoms of the Forest even Mouse-Munchers.

It’s been a hit and miss kind of year and now as the season draws near with roughly a month of Winter Owling left.

Sipping coffee and munching on a Granola Bar as the time passes waiting for some action to take place by a Great Gray…timing was perfect as I had just set down my mug and picked up the camera…so kind of her to wait before making her move. A slow flight with a mid-air stall and briefly hovering over the possible meal beneath the snow before making the plunge.
This characteristic fashion and form is always exciting to witness when you encounter a Ghost of the Forest.

Cheers !
