Bush Country Results

Pleasant day spent out-n-about…even in the cold temps it always seems warmer when you’re surrounded by bush.
When leaving there were options and over the years I’ve found that sometimes going with that “Gut Feeling” may bring rewards.

This time things fell into place. When first spotting this Great Gray on a cut off tree stump it appeared to just have finished a meal.
Then moved on to a dead tree branch just so I could take his picture before moving once more where it spent the rest of the afternoon.
Much like a human after a meal…you just want to relax.

Great Grays lend to more tolerant of humans than Snowy Owls and tend to just hang around if left alone.

And yes my “Clicker Finger” worked just fine in the cold.

Thinking of Winter Possibilities

Now into November and thoughts have already started to shift to the Winter Owl Season.
Great Grays being at the top of the list but likely not till Dec/Jan and hopefully with lots of snow.

Mid Nov on should bring the first sightings of Snowy Owls…the last couple years hasn’t found near the numbers compared to years past.
Hopefully Mother Nature will be kind and provide plenty of opportunities…time will tell.

Sifting Through Some Winter Folders

Well it was time to do some Spring Cleaning and organize some files on the computer. Going through a folder called Winter Owls 2020-2021 brought back some enjoyable memories of the encounters with the Great Grays this past winter.

Strange how the mind works or doesn’t work…I have trouble remembering names, dates or details from three months ago but able to remember where photos are taken.

As long as I don’t forget how to find my way home things are all good.
