Theme Continues

Great Grey theme continues since these have been the most common winter owls available this year.

One of life’s little pleasures is the ability to share owls in the wild…sharing with you what I view when looking through the lens gives you the opportunity to see these beautiful owls up-close and personal.

There’s “Baseball Widows” and “Football Widows” then there’s “Raptor Widows”…appears I’ve spent more time with the owls than with my wife the last couple day’s.

Yesterday was like a work day, an enjoyable work day…spending 7 hrs.of pure enjoyment with a Great Grey.

Must say that I was glad the temps where just below freezing and able to multitask with lunch in one hand and the camera in the other.

The Great Grey is Manitoba’s official bird and many refer to them as The Ghost of the Forest.

They may be found year round through out the province. During the winter months is perhaps the best time to locate since they tend to be out in the open more. From the trees they will hunt the ditches and move up and down the roadways in search of their next meal.

Often found perched for lengthy periods it then becomes a waiting game for action.

It doesn’t matter how many I see I’m always in awe of these magnificent owls.
