Great Gray on the Move

Enough dreaming of things to come this summer…back to what’s currently being focused on.

One of life’s little pleasures is being able to share with others the action that I come across while out-n-about on a adventure.

Not always action packed and sometimes it seems more like watching paint dry.

I remember hearing this quote years ago and it’s something to live by for me…”Nature is like a book, those who do not explore read only but one page”

Lunch Date With a Gray

Sitting along the roadway watching a Great Gray as she seemed focused and zeroing in on a potential meal that moved beneath the snow…sudden head jerks from side to side along with downward glances then total focus. With that prolonged stare and slight body adjustment I knew this to be all part of the pre-plunge prep.

Down she dropped but it wasn’t clear if she had been successful until she flew up to a perch, turned and showed off her catch of the day.

She did offer to share but I declined as I’m not a fan of Vole Tartare.

Not to be Disappointed

Looking at the options for a productive day ? It was between the open farm lands for Snowy Owls or head to Bush Country for a chance of Great Grays…gut feeling told me Bush Country and turned out not to be disappointing.

As it’s still early in the season and hopefully this would be a good indication for the rest of the winter…time will tell ?
