During the winter months many complain it’s to cold when it’s -35c…I say, well there’s no bugs and great day for Winter Owling. During the summer many complain it’s to hot when it’s +35c and even higher with the humidex…I say, it’s to hot for the bugs and a great day for water birds…like the American White Pelicans at Lockport.

Great numbers of Pelicans have return to Lockport and fun to watch…amazes me just how slow they fly without dropping into the river.

The Red River now clear of ice jams and flowing at a good rate with the levels dropping…only makes sense that the Pelicans have now returned.
They are fun to watch and photograph as they glide up and down the river.
They can be found just a short drive North of Winnipeg at Lockport if your looking for something to do on a sunny afternoon.
