Change of pace and switching from Raptors to Shore Birds.
When you want a change in scenery you can always head out to Oak Hammock Marsh. The marsh is host to a wide variety of small birds, ducks, raptors and shorebirds during both spring and fall migration.
Though the American Avocet now lacks the brown/rust colors of spring breeding it was still enjoyable to see.

Perhaps one of the most striking shore birds we have…the American Avocet.
They can be found across the prairies around wetlands, ponds and marshes.
