Finally making time to check the Urban Osprey nest here in Winnipeg…the two chicks are now at the stage where they are Winger-sizing.
The other morning there had been a great deal of flap, flap, flapping taking place.
They now work at strengthening their wings so that when they fledge that First Flight will be a success.

Matriarch Returns to Winnipeg

You may recall recent communication regarding Princess(The Radisson Matriarch) and her release. Since then she hasn’t been spotted as far as I know…so no news is good news as they say.
Having known Princess since 2006 I’ve collected many photos of her over the years.
For whatever reason the Stars Aligned and I was able to say farewell.

Morning Osprey Visit

The hours pass and the days come and go.
I currently seem to have a lot on my plate…but thought I would need to make time to check the Urban Osprey.
At first it was much like watching paint dry…then Mrs. Osprey finally did a short fly around on my early morning visit.

I’ll assume this fly around was simply to stretch her wings since she sits at the nest for extended periods watching over the two chicks.

Now looking forward to the chicks beginning to do their Winger-cising.
