When Things Fall into Place

The forecast sounded positive with sunny skies and warm temps…everything fell into place.
My internal clock woke me at oh so dark 5:00 am…then morning coffee, packing lunch and snacks and camera gear at the back door.

While most others would still be sleeping I was on the road headed North up along the shores of Lake Winnipeg in my quest for Fall Eagles.

There’s never any guarantees when it comes to Mother Nature…but I had a good feeling that there would be some rewards at the end of the day.

Sometimes it pays off when you decide to check out a bush trail that leads to who knows where. Remember thinking…will I be able to turn around or will I have to back all the way out.
The trail was in better shape than I thought but likely one you wouldn’t want to be trying in wet weather.
Going with the gut feeling to try the trail paid off…appeared a hand full of Eagles also liked this spot.

Uncertain what day of the week it was but must have been a Twofer Tuesday…Bonus to have them on a low perch.

Now nearing the half-way point of October…it’s time to think of some out-n-about trips up along Lake Winnipeg.
Eagles will now be collecting along the shores as they prepare to migrate.
Hopefully I can keep my calendar clear on those days that the forecast seems promising…unlike the snow that was encountered last year on Oct 19.

Like I say…worse the conditions the better the stories.
