The eggcitement is building as Ella and Pip now incubating 4 eggs at the Radisson Hotel…with an estimated hatching date to begin around Victoria Day May 23rd.

For those that have Shaw TV you may also watch it live on Ch. 9 between 9-10 am.
Same time for those that have Blue Curve with Shaw on Ch. 105.

For the next couple weeks I’ll remind you that it’s more like Watching Paint Dry…but if your timing is such you may catch a glimpse of the eggs during sift change.

It comes as no surprise that the Osprey have returned a bit later than normal this year given our conditions.
One of the Urban Birds a short distance from home that I believe to be a female was seen yesterday.

Wasting no time she’s already started nest repairs on her own…hopefully Hubby will show up soon.

Slowing Down the Pace

Trip to a city pond…
I recently had agreed to take a visitor from Sweden on a road trip out-n-about after his business meetings wrapped up.
He had two simple requests that he hoped I would be able to provide.
Wood Ducks and White Pelicans….well that was easy even with all the road closers and flooding.

He couldn’t get over the colors of the Wood Ducks and just how large Pelicans really are.
He was pleased and excited to get back home and go through his photos…even though I had hoped for more action and birds.
A bonus in his mind was seeing and photographing Peregrines…only because I just happen to know some places.
