Excitement turn to sadness as I moved to hopefully get a better angle on the fox.
As expected the fox was well away of my movement but still didn’t move. It was soon apparent that this fox had mange. Being somewhat scruffy, thin and lacking the full bushy tail that one would expect to see.
Mange as it’s called is caused by mites which causes the fox to scratch and bite at the itch constantly. This will in time lead to open soars and infection and in time death of the fox.
Mother Nature can be cruel but it is what it is.
