Big Bird on the Wing

Had a great time at Oak Hammock Marsh watching the six Great Egrets and their interactions. I will only assume that there would have been juveniles in the mix ? They went about their search for food unconcerned with human presence and at times come relatively close ( 100-125 ft.)

It appeared that they each had an area that they where wading in and if another came to close they seemed to defend that location with vocal calls and chasseing away the intruder.

All this provided, wading, take off, landing and flight shots.

Never had much luck with the Great Egret until the last couple days. These large birds are similar in appearance to the Great Blue Heron only pure white and a bit smaller in size.
Like the Heron they wade in the ponds in search of food
