In-coming Peregrine

At times subjects may be closer than they seem when looking down the lens of a camera…then the sudden Whoosh as the bird passes and aligns itself for another pass…little unnerving at times.

I’m sure this won’t have been the last time and there will be more Klick, Klick, Klick and Duck encounters.

Pip on a Fly-By

During the banding process and new camera set-up we had the resident male (Pip) swing by.
They always make it look so easy…here he was all but stationary and most likely seeing if he could catch a glimpse of the kids.
Or perhaps checking out the new camera that our camera guy was working on and wondering if it was him that stole the kids.

Peregrine Chick Banding

Under a fair amount of protest by Ella and Pip the two boys received their New Bling June 22 at the Radisson Hotel…the banding went well with only minor wounds inflicted by chick talons.
With this ritual completed and a new camera view some may have noticed that one of the chicks has a Red Band.
Why the Red Band…it’s just a simple way for easy identification from a distance. We simply put different colored tape on the silver band if there is more than one chick and the tape will fall off in time.

Meet the Radisson Boys.
