Very common sight to see when Swainson as well as other raptures are in flight…Red-winged Blackbirds, Eastern and Western Kingbirds will often harass these much larger birds.
They will often do the same if a raptor is perched some where.

Spending time with the Eagles
Most exciting year at the summer place in Gimli these past few months and much to look forward to next year. Now with a second pair of Osprey and a good start to a nest site as well the Eagles nest.
Watching these two siblings interacting at the nest prior to fledging was always a great way to spend an afternoon.
High Hopes
Hopefully this year will be a good one for the winter owls…Mother Nature hasn’t been kind for the last couple in regards to the Great Gray Owl.
Just love being in the bush at -25c and watching an owl float over an open area in search of food.
