Change of Pace

Switching from large Eagles to smaller Snow Buntings (sparrow like in size) that migrate from the Arctic to the southern parts of the prairies at this time of year…they are often seen while in search of Snowy Owls along the roadsides in flocks during the winter months here in Manitoba…apparently they also like the shorelines of Lake Winnipeg at Grand Beach.

On a Perch

The day was less than kind soon after we arrived at Hecla, dull overcast skies moved in and the winds picked up. Change in conditions appeared to drive the Eagles farther away from the shore and into the bush.
This pair perched side by side for some time…I would assume by size that they would be an adult male and a juvenile female.

Trip to the North Country

The summer place now closed for another season, the garden is cleaned up and with most the yard work is done.
That means it was time to dust off the camera equipment and hit the road.

Two hrs. North in search of Eagles and the clicker finger is ready for action.
Perhaps a bit early but the Eagles now are starting to collect…hopefully a couple more trips still to be made.
