As the mercury drops I find myself thinking more and more of the returning Winter Owls.
Hopefully it will be a good year for the Snowy, Great Gray and Hawk Owls.
Time will tell.

Back to the Eagles
Fishermen have nets set close to the shore line and with some idea as to their timing for pulling in the nets I simple sit and wait.
Once they start…the Eagles know and are up and flying.
Then it’s all about being in the right place at the right time…some times it works out.
Back Yard Birding
Build It and They Will Come…I’ve had peanut logs on the deck for years and you just never know what will turn up.
Visitor to the log yesterday was a Pileated Woodpecker…I would compare them to being Crow like in size if you have never seen one.
lucky that I was home and heard it’s loud distinctive call while in the living room.
Last time we had one was in Nov 2012…hopefully it will stick around and enjoy my peanuts.
