I’m not a happy camper when they issue a Winter Storm Warning days in advance…I assumed that we would be missed but on the off chance they were correct decided to make a run up along the shore of Lake Winnipeg in search of Eagles this passed Tuesday.
Good thing as the forecast held true and we’ve been hit with a Colorado Low that has made Hwy driving treacherous.
So the search for Eagles proved to be rewarding as they are starting to collect and it’s hard to say if I get back up there ??
Though there are still Pelicans around my focus has been on other feathered friends when out-n-about.
Reflecting back on a warm summer day from earlier this year…with Half Moon Hotdogs and Pelicans on the menu at Lockport.
After waking up in an excited state having dreamt of seeing the “First Snowy” of the year I needed to give myself a poke.
Not yet Dennis it’s too early for their return.
All good things are worth waiting for…could very well begin seeing the first of the winter owls come the middle of November.
