Snowy Owl

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to check on the Snowy activity. Now with the warmer temps the dirt roads will be very greasy and some/most impassable…which means some white knuckle driving if attempted ?

This year’s sightings have been good and I was able to spend a fare amount of time out-n-about.

The chances of finding owls in new locations will now increase as they soon will begin to start moving back up North.

Gray Owl Search Put on Hold

The endless search for Great Grays has been a disappointment this year. Now that we are nearing the middle of March the owls will soon setting up territories and then the matting process.

After many miles and hours logged coming home with no rewards has become frustrating…the same goes for other photographer friends.

It is what it is and Mother Nature isn’t always cooperative…there will be next year.

Ready for Take Off

This year there has been decent numbers of Snowy Owls kicking around. On occasion your able to see 2-3 while parked along the roadway.
Not all have been approachable and it’s always a challenge on just how to approach them…what works for one my not work for another.

Often they are off and flying before your able to get into range and I refer to these as “Birders Delights”
I do have my thoughts on possible reason for these “Spooky Owls”
