{"id":2672,"date":"2021-11-12T06:49:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-12T12:49:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/photosbydennis.ca\/blog\/?p=2672"},"modified":"2021-11-12T06:49:32","modified_gmt":"2021-11-12T12:49:32","slug":"out-n-about-before-the-storm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/photosbydennis.ca\/blog\/2021\/11\/12\/out-n-about-before-the-storm\/","title":{"rendered":"Out-n-about Before the Storm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" onmousedown=\"alert('Sorry ... you will need to contact me if you wish to use this photo')\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pbase.com\/photosbydennis\/image\/172119876\/large.jpg\" alt=\"photo courtesy of Dennis Swayze\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All reports indicated a storm was looming\u2026it was time to check out recent Snowy Owl sightings that had been reported.<br \/>\nUnfortunately no Snowy Owls spotted.<br \/>\nWhile searching I did spot something of interest way down the road\u2026not expecting to see a Bald Eagle on the road side.<\/p>\n<p>How close could I get before it took off was the first thought\u2026a few photos then moving closer, more shot and moved closer.<br \/>\nSuddenly realizing that the bird had an injured wing and unable to fly\u2026now what ?<br \/>\nI don\u2019t have a blanket, gloves or a box\u2026I could use my jacket to wrap it in\u2026but then how do a I drive and hold an Eagle at the same time ?<br \/>\nOne thing was certain I wasn\u2019t about to leave it there.<\/p>\n<p>Long story short\u2026Lisa from Prairie Wildlife was on her way to my location with a volunteer to pick up the Eagle.<br \/>\nThere I sat on the side of a back road babysitting an Eagle\u2026you just never know how your day will turn out.<\/p>\n<p>I did what I could but unfortunately the Eagle had to be put down.<br \/>\nSometimes things just don\u2019t turn out the way you would like then too and you have to take the bad with the good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All reports indicated a storm was looming\u2026it was time to check out recent Snowy Owl sightings that had been reported.
