{"id":2307,"date":"2020-06-02T07:37:14","date_gmt":"2020-06-02T12:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/photosbydennis.ca\/blog\/?p=2307"},"modified":"2020-06-02T07:37:14","modified_gmt":"2020-06-02T12:37:14","slug":"lucky-bird-gets-another-chance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/photosbydennis.ca\/blog\/2020\/06\/02\/lucky-bird-gets-another-chance\/","title":{"rendered":"Lucky Bird Gets Another Chance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" onmousedown=\"alert('Sorry ... you will need to contact me if you wish to use this photo')\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pbase.com\/photosbydennis\/image\/170761823\/large.jpg\" alt=\"photo courtesy of Dennis Swayze\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure the crew that had been scheduled to do some maintenance  at a Telus tower had no idea what they were about to come across.<br \/>\nThe tower  construction is open at the top and simply a large concrete tube about four ft across where equipment and cables on the inside.<br \/>\nCan\u2019t imagine their surprise to find a Peregrine inside at the base of the tower.<br \/>\nWildlife Haven Rehab had been contacted and with their help along with the crew they repelled down and picked up a unbanded adult Peregrine.<br \/>\nThe bird had no serious injuries just a little dehydrated which was a easy fix for the folks at Wildlife Haven.<br \/>\nMay 27 and the bird was given a clean bill of health and ready for release.<br \/>\nThe bird was banded and of course would need a name&#8230;first thought was Lucky which seemed fitting but that just didn\u2019t work.<br \/>\nThe bird will be called Phoenix&#8230;how appropriate.<br \/>\nHe was one lucky bird to get a second chance to fly again&#8230;it\u2019s nice when the stars align and everything falls into place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m sure the crew that had been scheduled to do some maintenance at a Telus tower had no idea what they were about to come across.
